Haven’t seen Soul on Disney+… I ended my year by watching something very Wholesome
You can’t crush a soul.
That’s what life on Earth is for.
That quote hit me hard.
Honestly, animated movies aren’t my thing.
when I run out of crime shows to watch, I switch to Disney to feed my nostalgia.
But I never thought Soul would be a treat to watch especially when you can’t go out on a New Year’s Eve.
The story was about a jazz musician, Joe Gardener, who couldn’t get a good gig in his life and accidentally died on the night when he was supposed to perform.
That’s a bummer.
Joe went into another astral world and struggled to find his way back on Earth.
Joe eventually did go back to Earth and realized many things about life and passion.
He realized that…
- Life is about connecting with people.
- Taking a deep breathe and enjoy life.
- Not worrying too much about petty things.
- Not being judgmental.
- Avoid hustling too hard at a job you hate and do what you love.
- How to reborn once again even if your life is smoothly flowing.
To make a long story short, Disney’s Soul told us why your life doesn’t need to have a purpose.
You have to enjoy LIVING.
Live. Feel. Enjoy.
Whatever that means for you.
I loved the part where Joe Gardener asked what was 22’s purpose and spark?
And there was none.
But it doesn’t have to be this way with everyone.
Some people find something they like doing and make money out of it, some don’t.
All these fake gurus and mentors online told you that you have a purpose. A calling. A passion. They enforced their passion on you. It works on some people who doesn’t really have goals in life.
The thing is,
Happiness is not about performing at the big stage, earning more than your siblings, or becoming financially free.
It’s about enjoying what you do every single day.
Happiness for you can be… umm..
Reading a book everyday with a cup of tea
Teaching under-privileged kids
Scuba diving.. that’s when you are under water
Building cars or machines
This is your spark and happiness. The things you do everyday.
The easiest way to find out what you can do for the rest of your life is to ask this question:
What will I do If I have all the money in the world?
If money doesn’t matter, then what will you do?
Can you answer that?
If yes and you already know the answer, then do that.
Live and enjoy.
